Dinner with Taichi
On our first real night we met up with Taichi, a family friend, native tokyoian (unclear if this works) and excellent English speaker (lived in the states for 10 years). We ate at a traditional fisherman's restaurant, where we grilled the seafood at our table. The talk was interesting, comparing American and Japan and he told us about some of the nuances of his life, his family and his work. (He is a professor of music-violin speciality). He was so friendly and interesting, it was a lovely night. We ate in the area near our hotel called Asakusa. (See next blog for more info about this part of town).
